This year 2020, marks the 70th anniversary of the inauguration of the Librarian College of the University of Havana, as it was recorded in the decree of the University Council of June 14th of the year 1950. In this context, this special issue of Revista Publicando comes to light and is dedicated to vocational education in the field of information sciences in Cuba.
The announcement made and the papers proposed for consideration by the journal's evaluation committee have allowed us to form a Special Issue with formative experiences of all the scenarios in which these professionals are trained in our country today.
In this way, the reader can find research and training experiences from the University of Havana, the Central University of Las Villas, the University of Camaguey, and the University of Holguin. Similarly, all these experiences bring together teachers, students, and graduates from all the universities mentioned above. This is a sign of the integrative nature of these professionals' training and the exchange of knowledge that occurs at all stages in the research cycle that closes with the publication of their results.
The Department of Information Sciences of the Faculty of Communication of the University of Havana is pleased to present the issue. We appreciate Revista Publicando and the conclusion of a publication that will undoubtedly make a clear statement to the scientific community. The current career of Information Sciences prides itself on its long humanistic history in the service of science, innovation, and development, not just for Cuba, but the world.
