Abstract
Esta investigación analiza la relación entre el acceso al financiamiento y el emprendimiento en la región 7 del Ecuador (Provincias de Loja, El Oro y Zamora Chinchipe). Para verificar la relación planteada en el estudio se plantea un modelo con datos de corte transversal. Los datos empleados corresponden al Censo Nacional Económico del año 2010 elaborados por el Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas y Censos. La variable dependiente es la cantidad de Pymes que nacieron entre los años 2005 y 2010 como medida de emprendimiento, mientras que la variable independiente corresponde a los establecimientos financieros en cada cantón como medida del acceso al financiamiento, respectivamente. Además, fueron incluidas las variables relacionadas al capital humano promedio cantonal y la especialización productiva. Los resultados del estudio determinan que el acceso al financiamiento tiene un efecto positivo para el surgimiento de nuevas empresas.References
