Incidence of teleworking on the labor productivity of the Provincial Directorate of the Judicial Council of Manabí

Abstract

This research is relevant due to the growing interest in teleworking due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced many organizations to implement this modality to guarantee the continuity of work activities. The academic contribution lies in the understanding and knowledge of the effects of teleworking on labor productivity. From a practical perspective, the Provincial Directorate of the Judicial Council of Manabí can use this research to evaluate and adjust its policies and practices related to teleworking. It is essential to highlight that this research is based on a quantitative approach, which implies that data was collected through a survey. However, since it is a non-experimental investigation, that is, no variables were manipulated, or a control group was established, it is necessary to consider that the results reflect the perception of the participants at the time of the survey and relationships of direct causality between teleworking and labor productivity cannot be established. Nevertheless, the findings support the idea that teleworking can positively impact employees' productivity and job satisfaction.
