Abstract
El objetivo de la investigación fue determinar los “vacíos” encontrados en la literatura y que puedan ser más importantes en relación con el efecto del liderazgo y la cultura en la eficiencia organizacional. Como “vacíos” se entiende cuáles son las direcciones investigativas más importantes que se derivan de una revisión crítica de la literatura reportada. La investigación fue exploratoria y de carácter documental. Se revisaron para ello las Bases de Datos de Scopus y ScienceDirect. La búsqueda se orientó a los términos: liderazgo, cultura organizacional y eficiencia organizacional. Estos términos se consideraron en idioma inglés con el objetivo de poder recopilar artículos en revistas de reconocido impacto.
Los vacíos más importantes que se determinaron fueron: la necesidad de considerar el impacto de otros factores contextuales sociales en relación con el análisis de la cultura organizacional, realizar estudios longitudinales que puedan considerar la dinámica de la interacción entre los estilos de liderazgo y la cultura organizacional. En relación con la efectividad organizacional se hace necesario poder delimitar el posible defecto del liderazgo en indicadores de tipo financiero y no financiero.
Aunque la mayor parte de los trabajos analizados sobre esta temática fueron de tipo cuantitativo, el poder analizar casos de diferentes organizaciones y caracterizar los estilos de dirección en que cada una de ellas puede ser importante para determinar los estilos de dirección y culturas que caracterizan organizaciones exitosas.
